A Real Update

Okay, I've decided now that it's a good time to actually say lots of stuff, which I failed to do in my last update. This decision was made mostly because I'm bored and I actually have time to do this right now. Anyway, this quarter so far has basically been a big blur. I've been working really hard just to sort of keep up with stuff. I guess I'm doing alright with everything, but I'm certainly looking forward to winter break.

First of all, marching band has been really fun so far this year. I'm enjoying it more and more every year, which is good. Unlike last year, when my section was incredibly boring, we're a lot more interesting this year. I'd say that we're probably the weirdest section in the band. I guess that's something at least. Anyway, even though band is a huge drain on my time, it's worth it because it probably helps me from going crazy trying to get everything else done.

Speaking of band, we went to Japan earlier this quarter. I think I talked about this some last time, but I will supplement my previous comments. Too bad I don't remember what those comments were....Oh well. Anyway, Japan was really a lot of fun, and it was a neat cultural experience. It was certainly a nice break from real life...no classes or work. We marched in a couple parades and gave a concert while we were there, and the Japanese seemed to like us really well. Hopefully the band will get to go back sometime in the future, although undoubtedly I'll have graduated by the time they get to go back. Anyway, one important thing I learned on the trip is that plane rides are a lot shorter when they show three good movies. It cuts down the travel time by like 2 hours. Or maybe that was the windstream. Whatever. Anyway, I won't go into any more detail about the trip, because there is so much I could say, but if you really wanna know more, IM me or something.

Sadly, I still have a life outside of band. Well, not really a life so much as an eternal homework / WoW session. Yes, I have started playing World of Warcraft and now I'm addicted. At least I have someone to blame for taking me to buy the game, so it's ok I guess. Anyway, beyond that I do homework and stuff a lot, and I try to not fail my exams. Actually, so far I'm doing well on the last part I think, but I still have two more exams coming up in the next couple weeks that could theoretically be difficult. We'll see. I'm also working on a research project, although it's not nearly as involved as the one I had last quarter. Basically I'm just using some imaging software to look at a data set from a gravitational lens. Mostly I have to prepare the image using the software and then measure a couple intensities, I think. It's really nice that I can do this, since learning this software is good for future research and it really doesn't take that much of my time. Tomorrow I will be working on this a lot, I think.

So anyway, that is basically my life right now. Pretty much I do band, school, WoW, and occasionally hang out with friends when I have time. I guess that's all I have to say for the moment, but hopefully I will get back up to at least weekly updates, so I'm sure you'll get to hear more soon enough.

Time for an Update

It's been a really long time since I've bothered to update, but I finally got around to it. Since the last time I wrote something, I've had marching band camp, started classes, and traveled to Japan and Oregon. All this while doing schoolwork...yeah, it's been a lot of work. Next week I have two physics midterms, which will be painful.
