The Baron is Back!

Sorry I didn't post forever...I've been really busy ever since last week, and I haven't had much time on my computer. I did manage to get most of my crap packed in time so I could move out, which was good. Then I finally got home, where I immediately discovered I had a hundred things to do. In particular, I've started by summer internship with Bechtel. It's been pretty fun, actually. The people I work with are fairly cool (well, for engineers at any rate :), and so it is going quite well. I spent most of the last four days getting oriented and also typing in data records. That doesn't sound very exciting, but one must recall that for a while I wanted to be a librarian so I could play with data records (there were other reasons too, but nevermind). Next week I expect I will start doing more "exciting" stuff. Today we actually went out to the park and got experience using our fancy GPS units, so in the near future us interns will be allowed to go out to the Hanford site to map stuff. Eventually I will be remapping an old road for something. Also, I will be working on making a program in Microsoft Access, something I've never tried to do before. I'm also hoping that they'll let me go to the WSU Tri-City library to do locate some old documents for them, but we'll see. Anyway, my summer is going well so far. The fact that I have a job I like that also pays twice as much as what most of my friends are making is just icing on the cake.

Finally Finished

Today was my last final. It went alright, I guess. Hopefully my score will be good compared to the distribution, but in reality I could have done better. Oh well. Anyway, right now I am frantically trying to pack so that tomorrow morning all I have left to do is run some errands, vacuum, dust, and then leave. I suppose I should get back to work...

Almost Done...

Contrary to any rumors that may be circulating, I have not dropped off the face of the earth. Well, not quite. I guess I have been kind of busy. Anyway, I took my first final yesterday, and it went fairly well. I actually knew most of the answers. Tomorrow is my more difficult final, in mathematical physics. The dead French mathematicians (not to mention Professor Ellis) may yet get their revenge upon the Boron Baron...

In other exciting news, I will be home soon. I know, I agree, it's about time. I'm leaving Thursday afternoon, so I will be home in about 48 or 49 hours. Of course, it might help if I packed sometime prior to when I leave. I've hardly even thought about doing that yet, and my room is such a mess. Oh well, I guess I'll find out how fast I can stuff all my crap into boxes and vacuum my floor Thursday morning. I'm sure it will be interesting. Alright, I have to go study. Please try not to laugh at me too much. It's not that funny. Really. Well, maybe it is. But we'll see who's laughing in August. It certainly won't be all you people on semesters.

Totally Without Class

Well, today was my last day of regular class (finally!). I will be going home in six days, which is cool. But I just have to make it through those six days. I've been really busy lately, which I guess is good. Yesterday I was given an award by the astronomy department for academic achievement, which was really neat. I probably looked like a complete idiot in front of all the faculty, but I suppose they'll get used to me looking like a moron. Anyway, I have a couple finals next week, but I'm not really that worried about them. I'll just have to study for a good 4-5 hours for each one and I'll be just fine. What does worry me is all the other crap I have to do. I have to talk to a bunch of professors, fix my course schedule for next fall, finish two big computer projects (both of which have big problems that I have no idea how to fix), clean my room ("messy" doesn't begin to describe it right now...), pack up all of my crap (and I have nothing to pack it in), while taking those finals. All of that stuff needs to be done by Wednesday, but I don't want to/can't do most of it until Monday. Admittedly this doesn't seem THAT bad, but what does make it THAT bad is that I think I'm getting one of my sinus infection/migraine things. If my new medicine doesn't work, this next week is going to be really, really, sucky. So stay tuned for me either to be really happy or really grumpy in my next post...

Japan!

Yesterday I went to my marching band rehearsal, and I paid all of my money to go on the Japan trip next year! It should be a really fun trip. Incidentally, the rehearsal was also an opportunity to play my mellophone, which is always fun. The downside to all that is that I managed to hurt my back somehow (I guess I got a little bit too into the choreography or something...). Anyway, it's nothing serious, probably just like a pulled muscle or something. But it still annoys me. Well, I have to go to class and then to a meeting, so I will stop typing stuff now.
