Last Week of Freedom

Today marks the beginning of my last full week of summer. Well, technically school doesn't start until the 28th of September, but I'm going to go back next week for marching band stuff. Anyway, I only have 300,000,000 things to do between now and when I leave. I have 3.5 more days of work, and I am expected to complete three reports and wrap up my programming between now and Thursday. Also, this week I have to be at work at 6 AM, meaning I'll be waking up at 4 AM or so every day. So....yeah, we'll see how well that goes. In addition, I still have to pack/unpack/repack all of my stuff for school, finish memorizing my music for marching band (actually I'm doing fairly well on that, only a few more songs I need to get through), and work on my Japanese (not going so well...I have to memorize some basic vocabulary, which I never seem to get around to).

This past weekend I took my "vacation" from the Tri-Cities this summer (by that I mean it was the first time I've left town since I got home from UW). However, I'm not sure my mellophone is speaking to me at the moment. That's because I went up to Pullman, home of the vilest college in the state. I went up on Friday and stayed with some of my friends from high school, Chris and Josh. Anyway, I just hung out up there for a couple days, mostly watching movies and stuff. It was fun, and I managed to avoid actually going onto the campus of the university formerly known as Washington State College, which is probably a good thing. I discovered, not surprisingly, that there really isn't much to do in Pullman.

Anyway, I'm back and there isn't much to do now except get all of my stuff done and look forward to marching band. Apparently we're expecting a fairly large number of rookies in my section, and with the trip to Japan and everything it should be a good year.
